What's on tap for this weekend?

Looks like an awesome weekend weather-wise this weekend - let's see what we have going on!

  • Friday night - Clinton Road, 6 p.m., road ride - same bad time, same bad channel as always!
  • Best of luck to TTC members who are riding up at Windham during the Race The World race on the World Cup course on Sunday! If you have some time, the UCI World Cup race Cross Country race is on Saturday, and the Downhill is on Sunday. Everyone who went last year was blown away by how fast the World Cup guys (and girls) are - and they were thrilled to ride the same course as the pro's on Sunday!
  • Sunday, Norm Albrecht is hosting a ride over at Wildcat WMA. Meet 10:00am at the Bat Cave parking lot off Green Pond Rd in Hibernia. BBQ and spa afterwards at Norm's.  Any questions or to RSVP - 973-879-0820 or trailhead2@verizon.net. Need directions? Click here!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Road Trip Photos, and a Pump Track Update

As part of a series of "catching up" posts, here's some photos from our road trip to Alexandria, and some updates!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first weekend in June, a few of our TTC members took a road trip out to Alexandria to check out their pump track. The Alexandria pump track is the first (and currently only) municipal pump track in NJ, and we wanted to see for ourselves how it was done!

More of our photos of the day can be found here - and thanks to everyone who came out, and especially to Bob Adase, who came out and showed us the ropes, and to Jeff Mergler, for putting the day together!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now, an update on our own West Milford pump track prospects! TTC and JORBA members Jeff Mergler, Dave Van Wart, and Jay Huggins made a presentation to the West Milford Town Council on June 15 with regards to building a pump track here in West Milford. The Town Council, as well as the Recreation Commission, the Economic Advisory committee, and the Environmental Commission are all been extremely supportive of the idea. There has been agreement on the site (the Farrell Field complex), and plans are moving forward! For an article on the meeting, please read this

What does this mean for us? Well, there are still details to be worked out, but it is looking more and more promising that come fall, we will be building a pump track here in West Milford! We will keep you up to date on developments, but in the meantime - thank you for all of your support! Lots of you voted in polls, and talked to people within the town voicing your support, and we really appreciate your efforts!

A few Thank You's!

We're more than a day late on some "Thank You's", so please bear with us as we catch up!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On June 7, we had a Party for Marty wine tasting event/fundraiser at the Endless Vine in Franklin Lakes - and it was a great evening! As usual, Laura and the staff at the Endless Vine put on a spectacular event, and the Friends of Marty came out in force! Between ticket sales, donations from the evening, and donations made by those of you who couldn't attend (special thanks to all of you!), we raised over $1,500 for Marty's fund! As always, we are floored by the generosity of friends and strangers alike, and are unbelievably grateful to everyone for their support of our buddy Marty and his parents Pete and Kelly!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our next set of thanks goes out to the women who attended our Trek WSD Women's Road Clinic/Bike Demo and bike ride on June 15 on Clinton Road. We had great weather, and a group of 27 women who attended - it was a fantastic evening!

To see more pictures of the evening, check out a few more photos here. Special thanks go out to Ross from Trek for both a great informative clinic, and some fun bikes to ride, to Jon Sherwood from Trek and our own Michael Hoek from Town Cycle for being our support crew, and to the 27 ladies who joined us for the evening - can't wait for our dirt demo day!
